CIty of Okabena News Letter July 2026
Summer is in full swing and we hope you are enjoying yourself!
Construction updates: The directional drilling of watermain and sanitary sewer has been completed. Grading along Elevator Dr. has been completed and sanitary sewer lining is scheduled for next week. The contractor is working on the remaining watermain tie-ins which require temporary water shutdowns.
Watertower updates: The structural repairs, blasting, and painting of the water tower have been completed. The contractor is working on cleaning up material around the project site. The remaining watermain work will be completed next week and once finished the water tower will be disinfected and turned back online. The electrical control work for the water tower will be completed in the coming weeks.
Heron Lake - Okabena Community Foundation is holding a golf classic at the Fulda town and country golf course on August 2, 2026. HLOCF is a non profit orginazation that awards grants to organizations which promote education and opportunities that enrich the communities of Heron Lake and Okabena.
