November 2020 Newsletter

The Okabena Community Club is currently working on these two projects:

  1. Purchase planters for our main street. We would like to purchase six planters.
  2. Replace the Okabena Welcome signs that have become weather worn.

We are receiving donations toward the projects.  We have not been able to do fundraising because of the Coronavirus. We have applied for a grant but at this time none have been successful. We appreciate those who have already made donations.  If you would like to make a donation, please make the check payable to the Okabena Community Club, and send to PO Box 234, Okabena MN 56161. Thank you for your interest in keeping Okabena looking wonderful. Label which project you prefer.

The City of Okabena has had complaints about dogs running on properties where they do not belong. First of all, no dog should be allowed to run loose at any time. Secondly, if your dog has been on another owner’s property, it is YOUR responsibility to clean up after your dog. This is according to city ordinance and dog owners that violate this ordinance will be fined.

In observance of Veterans Day, the City Hall will be closed on November 11th and in observance of Thanksgiving Day, City Hall and The Corner Pocket/Liquor Store will be closed on November 26, 2020.

As we near the end of the year, please be reminded that all account balances are to be paid in full by the 31st of December, 2020.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO YOU ALL*** Sandy
